You play the roll of Brandon, who comes home to find his grandfather turned to stone. The evil jester, Malcolm, has escaped from the curse of the Royal Mystics and now seeks his revenge, Brandon's grandfather being the leader of them.
Malcolm now wanders the countryside causing all sorts of mischief with his evil magic. Brandon soon discovers that he is chosen to face Malcolm and stop him before he destroys Kyrandia! In order to battle Malcolm, you'll need to seek the counsel of the Royal Mystics and arm yourself with a variety of magic tricks.
